Boston’s Innovation District in and around the Seaport District may well be the next Silicon Valley. Development has proceeded at a spectacular rate in this area, with old warehouses and factories being transformed into office spaces. New entrepreneurs in this exciting new district are preparing by completing the key business set-up stages such as taking out Boston business insurance and settling quickly into the area.


The Boston Globe recently reported that around 100 businesses had already established a presence, bringing 3,000 new jobs to the area. The Innovation District has no fixed boundaries but covers Fort Point, Fan Pier, Liberty Wharf, the Seaport District, and more. Around one million square feet of extra construction is planned, with new office towers to be added. 

The district was created to attract entrepreneurs and companies to boost the city’s economic growth. However, it’s not all work and no play – along with the office space has come restaurants and other cultural attractions such as museums and art galleries. A micro-brewery is set to open later this year.
