Insuring your “stuff”!

Category: Our Blog

Your personal property is covered on your homeowners policy for worldwide travel but only for named perils such as fire, theft, and vandalism to name a few (unless you have an all risk policy). So you would be covered if your suitcase was stolen but not if you left your computer on the plane by mistake. If you want to have all risk coverage on your  camera, jewelry, musical instruments or golf equipment when you travel you need to schedule these items. There is also a computer endorsement you can add to your homeowners policy that provides all risk coverage. All risk coverage covers you for theft, fire, and vandalism, but it also covers you for mysterious disappearance, accidental damage, and that oops, I forgot it on the plane situation. Please call us at Morrill Insurance before you travel. It pays to be safe rather than sorry!
