Visit http://www.trafficsafetymarketing.gov/CAMPAIGNS/Child+Safety/Child+Passenger+Safety+Week to find an inspection station near you. Buying and installing the right car seat for your child can be tricky. Buying the wrong one can be deadly. Swing by one of the approved inspection stations to make sure your child is safe in the back seat. You might think your child changes the type of car seat they should sit in at a certain age. Really you need to look at their height and weight to determine which car seat best fits them.

Then there is the question my daughter always asks me, “when can I sit in the front seat?” My pediatrician recommends you keep your children in the back seat until they can drive! In the event of a car accident any passenger, child or adult, is more prone to injury in the front seat of the car. So keep your kids in the back as long as you can! The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says all children should ride in the back until they are 13, they also provide recommendations on which seat is right for your child. Join us in celebrating National Child Passenger Safety week and save a child’s life!
